When it comes to last-mile connectivity of goods, Mahindra Bolero Pik-Up and Isuzu D-Max are favourite choices for entrepreneurs. The best characteristic of these Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) is you can use them both for conveyance as well as transporting goods to the market. The price of Mahindra Bolero Pik-Up and Isuzu D-Max are also within the competitive range. Both these mini pick-up trucks demonstrate a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) around 3000 kg. The Mahindra truck price in India for this model starts from as low as Rs 5.97 lakh for the base variant and reaches till Rs 7.50 lakh for the premium trim. It is available in five versions along with a CNG version and promises an impressive mileage of 13 kmpl. Similarly, the Isuzu D-Max price ranges between Rs 7.15 to Rs 7.60 lakh (Ex-showroom Price in New Delhi). The truck is available in four variants and offers a return of 13.2 kmpl. Both these trucks offer outstanding up-time, so you spend a minimal sum on their maintenance.

Engine Performance

Propelling the Mahindra Bolero Pik-Up, you get a BS-IV compliant, 4-cylinder, 2523cc, mDI 3200 turbocharged diesel motor. It churns out 70 bhp @ 3200 rpm maximum power and 200 Nm @ 1400-2200 rpm pounding torque. A 5-speed Synchromesh manual gearbox transmits power to the wheels with the help of a single-plate dry clutch plate. The mini pick-up truck remains loaded with a 60-litre fuel tank and offers a total driving range of 780 km.

The Isuzu D-Max truck gets powered by a BS-IV compliant, 4-cylinder, 2499 cc, Common-Rail, Turbocharged Intercooled mill. It pumps out a maximum power of 78 bhp @ 3800 rpm, and a peak torque of 176 Nm @ 1800-2400 rpm. A 5-speed manual gearbox performs the transmission duties in this pick-up truck. It remains loaded with 55-litres fuel tank and offers an approximate driving range of 726 km.

Design and Built

Mahindra Bolero Pik-Up comes with a GVW of 3425 kg, and a kerb weight of 1725 kg. It can transport a maximum payload of 1700 kg. Similarly, Isuzu D-Max demonstrates a GVW of 2850 kg and a kerb weight of 1650 kg. It has a loading capacity of 1200 kg. Both the commercial vehicles come with a deck body and a day cabin built on the chassis. However, the Mahindra Bolero Pik-Up has a non-Ac cabin, whereas you have an option of fitting air condition in Isuzu D-Max.

Safety Features

When it comes to safety measures, both Mahindra and Isuzu leave no stone unturned to safeguard the security of consignment and riders in their commercial vehicles. You get power steering, disc brakes, parking brakes and seatbelts in Mahindra Bolero Pik-Up. Similarly, Isuzu D-Max also remains equipped with power steering, parking brakes, disc brakes and seatbelts for the safety of the truck.
